Buffalo is a great town with so much history! Every block has either bronze artwork with plaques or story boards on the historical town. We walked up and down Main Street to read and see it all. Jeff and I browsed the small shops and galleries and stopped into Lolly’s Sugar Shack for some delicious cinnamon rolls we had heard about from others. 😬 The owner helped us and told us that the store had been the original bank in Buffalo and then showed us that the door to his office, when closed, was the original bank vault door!
The highlight of our day was seeing and touring around the infamous Occidental Hotel and Saloon. 😊 The hotel was opened in 1880 near the Bozeman Trail and Big Horn Mountains. It was visited by many famous people as they traveled the west and was know for it’s hospitality and great food. The Occidental Saloon was known in the west for it’s high-stake poker games, which regularly got out of hand and gun shots were no stranger. There are still bullets lodged in the walls and ceilings from these games. The famous guests of the hotel included Buffalo Bill Cody, Teddy Roosevelt, Herbert Hoover, Calamity Jane, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Tom Horn to name a few.
The Occidental Hotel has since been restored and feels like stepping back in time. The saloon is super cool because it still has the original bar in place.

Another ,wow! I bearly recognized you in one of those photos. You haven't noticed any Deloreans hiding behind any cactus or in barns yet?
