Hi everyone from Las Vegas, Nevada! We have been here a few days and having fun exploring our new surroundings. š¬šš» It is so strange to be ācampingā in the middle of a big city. We have both been here many times in the past, but never in a 5th Wheel! š
We went to the Fremont Street Experience, also known as āGlitter Gulch,ā which neither of us had ever been to. It is the old, historic part of Las Vegas and it is pretty cool. The street dates back to 1905 when Las Vegas was founded, and was the first street here to be paved in 1925. Fremont Street was also the location of the first traffic light in 1931 thanks to electricity from the Hoover Dam. There are many famous casinos on the street such as Binionās Horseshoe, Eldorado Club, Circa, Fremont Hotel & Casino, The Plaza, Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, Golden Nugget, and more. The street is also lined with restaurants, shops, bars, kiosks, and street performers. There are 3 huge outdoor stages for live performers and concerts. The canopy over Fremont Street is called Viva Vision and is made up of millions of LED light panels that are like watching an amazing 3D movie overhead! It is constantly changing and beautiful to see. A zip line runs the entire length of the canopy and you can purchase a ticket and fly above the entire experience. š
Jeff and I really enjoyed seeing Fremont Street Experience and highly recommend it to you if visiting Las Vegas. We hope you are all doing well. š
